The article examines the contradictory nature of the poetic view of S. Yesenin on the dramatic opposition of "angelic" and "demonic" orientations, where the angelic is associated with the creation of a holistic picture of the world, and the demonic - with its destruction. The corresponding means of poetic language are revealed: images of the earthly and heavenly, the mythological nature of metaphors and comparisons.
