Abstract

The article is devoted to the names of “alien” literary characters in Russian literature of the second half of the 19th century, their reminiscent-symbolic and expressive-evaluative role. Such names are used to create a figurative parallel and characterize public phenomena as a visual and evaluative means, a way of understanding reality.
