Abstract
Phoenix is ​​a sacred bird of the ancient Egyptians, a symbol of eternal rebirth. Once every 500 years, the phoenix burns down in the temple of the sun god Ra, then reborn as a young man from the ashes. The image was repeatedly used in Russian (Gogol, Ryleev, Vyazemsky, Dal, Stanyukovich and many others) and world (Herodotus, Kerner, etc.) literature. However, in the speech practice of our contemporaries, he is sometimes transformed into a phrase "like Felix from hell."
