The article analyzes the activities of non-profit organizations in the Russian Federation. The work of socially-oriented non-profit organizations working with family and children is considered in detail. Statistical data of the Ministry of Justice for the Federal Districts of the Russian Federation are taken as a basis. The role of the non-profit sector is discussed in the development of the country's economy. There are allocated subjects of the Russian Federation - leaders and outsiders by the number of non-profit organizations and by the number of SO NGOs working with family and children.
