Abstract
N. Luhmann's system theory begins with the question of communication possibilities. The authors consider the logic of development and the limits of this theory, starting from the research question of how people can communicate. It is concluded that communication should be considered as one of the most important and promising areas of modern theoretical sociology, providing a conceptual basis for various branches of sociological knowledge.
