Abstract
Social representations of the population are the basic socio-cultural factors that determine the social, economic and political processes in the country. Among their most important forms are the residents ' ideas about their region, about Russia as a whole, about the federal government, about the regional government. The image of the structure of society in the mass consciousness of the inhabitants concentrates the attitude of people to generalized social subjects. The article analyzes: residents 'ideas about the” usefulness" of various social groups and communities for our society; the attitude of the population to the country, its region, federal and regional authorities.
