The article points out that the rate of the Soviet working class development and the improvement of its social structure is high. Basing on sociological research data the author defines the general features and objective laws according to the following trendschanging of the character and content of labour, growing of intellectual creative elenients in the worker’s activities, rapid improvement in the worker’s well-being increasing of the labour and social activity of workers, rising of their educational and skill standards.
