Abstract

The Lelantine war is one of the most mysterious conflicts of the archaic time. Scarcity of reliable details concerning the war produced conceptual disputes in historiography. Theauthor argues for the hypothesis of a protracted and local character of the Lelantine war, based on the analysis of narrative tradition and archaeological materials.
