- During an excavation of the cemetery in Gorgippia in 1987 a representative collection of jewellery of the first centuries AD including adornments (6 finger-rings, two pairs of earrings, one odd ear-ring, a bead and three cylindrical collar decorations) and ritual objects (a golden plaque for funeral wreath and three golden indications) were found. These finds enrich our knowledge of jewellery used in Gorgippia in the Late Antiquity, show some traces of Roman influence and provide new evidence on the cult of Helios, Tyche, Dionysian deities and Roman emperors in Gorgippia.
