Abstract

The author compares two expositions of Psalm 21 by Augustine of Hippo: a shorter one dictated ca. 394 and a longer sermon pronounced in 407. She shows that the sermon was not just a more detailed exposition of the ideas already present in the dictated commentary, but was a result of considerable exegetical development distinctly coloured with anti-Donatist polemics.
