Аннотация
В статье обосновывается гипотеза, согласно которой положение Гнея Помпея в качестве privatus cum imperio в 67–48 гг. до н.э. было использовано Цицероном и октавианом Августом в качестве образца для нового статуса принцепса республики. Античная историография эпохи Августа не только переработала под этим углом зрения раннюю биографию Помпея до 67 г. до н.э., но и распространила представление о privati cum imperio в эпоху cредней и Ранней республики.
