- Abstract
Masterpieces of ancient Chinese art from Hubei Provincial Museum, one of the bestknown museums of China, were exhibited at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in March 2014. The collection of antiquities of Hubei Provincial Museum, permanently updated by new archaeological fi nds, refl ects the processes which took place in the southern territories of the country, such as the development of the original Chu culture which made a signifi cant and widely recognized contribution to the cultural and historical heritage of Ancient China. The paper gives a detailed account of the unique artifacts presented at the exhibition against a broad historical and cultural background.
