- Abstract
- Determination of the place occupied by the «slaves of the god» in the system of land tenure in Pylos depends principally on determination of the tendency of land distribution as revealed by comparing land lots held by slaves with those held by persons not belonging to the category doero. The Pylos texts seem not to include documents which would permit the delimitation of lands held specifically by «slaves of the godi>, who in fact make up the category of small holders, merging in this respect with other strata of the Pylos population.
