Abstract
The article discusses two recently published books by Russian researchers: a collection of articles "Misharsky dialect of the Tatar language" and a collective monograph "The structure of an event and semantics of a verb in the Karachai-Balkarian language." Both studies are the results of field work by the authors. It is noteworthy that, despite the focus on the grammar of two specific Turkic languages, both works go far beyond the limits of private language studies and offer answers to a number of fundamental questions about the border of the possible and the impossible in a natural language.
