Abstract
The article is an outcome of the collaboration between a Russian and an Indian anthropologist. It is drawn on three field research trips undertaken by the authors who managed to collect a substantial body of data on a variety of aspects of life among the Banjara of South India. In this article, the authors focus specifically on the social structure and social organization of the Banjara.
