Abstract
The paper deals with contemporary issues in reindeer herding in Chukotka, comparing the critical period of 1991-2000 with reindeer herding rehabilitation in 2001-2012. The author, using her fieldwork data, covers such issues as sovkhoz re-organization, community movement in Chukotka, cadre and property issues, municipalization and other problems in Chukotka reindeer herding
