- Abstract
- Folk aphorisms (proverbs, sayings and other small folklore genres) carry substantial pedagogical potentialities. Among the peoples of the North Caucasus, they indeed act as a means of upbringing within the system of traditional ethnic pedagogy. As instructions, these aphorisms infl uence the worldview of generations coming of age by inculcating the socially shared and accepted rules and norms of behavior in their consciousness.
